More detailed information

Why is contaminant detection important in the production of snacks, cookies and crackers?

Just like in every other area of the food industry, stringent specifications regarding product safety and quality apply here too. BRC and IFS certification, HACCP analyses and audits are therefore vital. And customers expect safe, contaminant-free food. Contaminant detectors are able to efficiently and reliably meet all of these requirements. As a result, investing in such equipment will have a direct impact on enhancing a company’s image and profitability.

What kinds of contaminants could appear in snacks, cookies and crackers?

Impurities can result from machine wear, contaminated raw materials and careless staff. Metal contaminants pose a particular risk and can be caused by the following:

  • Metal abrasion in conveyor pipes
  • Metal abrasion from processing machines
  • Machine breakage
  • Objects belonging to machine operators

What products in the snack industry are subject to inspection?

Our systems are used to inspect such things as the following:

  • Chips
  • Nachos
  • Cookies of any kind
  • Rusk
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Peanut puffs

Where and how do manufacturers of snacks, cookies and crackers use our machines?

Our metal detectors and X-ray systems are used mainly at the end of the production process for the final quality check after packaging. The most sensible and economical choice for your specific need depends on many factors. We would be happy to advise you and help you find the best solution!
