The Sesotec #NewLevelFactory stands for innovation and state-of-the-art technology – a project that sets new standards for energy-efficient and forward-looking construction. A lot is happening on the construction site: geothermal drilling for sustainable heat supply is in full swing!
Heating power in action! We are drilling 21 holes plus one for temperature monitoring – each 140 meters deep. Despite the frozen ground: The harder the material, the better!
Impressive dimensions The total length of all drillings is 2,940 meters – equivalent to the tunnel length of a small mining mine!
Perfectly on schedule With 3.5 drillings per week, all holes will be completed by the end of week 12. Supply lines are being installed during the drilling. From week 13, the filling of the drillings and the establishment of the line connections to the building will follow.
The highlight: From week 30, we will be heating with geothermal energy!

New Level Factory
The new building of Sesotec is an excellent example of resource conservation par excellence. With a minimalist architectural design that minimally interferes with the natural terrain, it is in harmony with the surrounding landscape. Additionally, the building features an innovative energy management concept based on a combination of photovoltaics and geothermal energy, completely avoiding the use of fossil fuels.
Through these measures, the new building makes a significant contribution to the energy transition and climate protection. Furthermore, a water recovery system is installed, which further increases the sustainability of the building and significantly reduces water consumption.

Estimated total cost of the project: double-digit million amount
One of the most important points was to consume as few land resources as possible. The construction integrates into the landscape and the existing conditions are interfered with as little as possible. Furthermore, innovative energy management was a particular concern in the planning. By using geothermal energy and photovoltaics without fossil fuels, this issue and the ecological footprint are resolved in a way that is fair to future generations.
