As Wyatt stepped off the plane, he was greeted by the humid, warm air of the Mexican autumn. The scent of the sea mingled with the promise of an exciting mission. Together with his colleague Peter Hammerl, he had traveled to Veracruz to commission two VARISORT+ Flex sorting bridges. A task that promised challenges.

Beyond Implementation

"It was intense—in the best way," Wyatt shares. The 35-degree heat, the high humidity—it made the work physically demanding. But that's exactly what he loves about his job: opportunities to prove himself in challenging conditions.

And then there were the conversations with the client: almost entirely in Spanish. "Moments like these constantly remind me of how international our work is," he says. Language barriers are part of the experience—and they are overcome together. A client team member who spoke excellent English facilitated coordination. It was a collaboration where everyone worked towards the same goal.

Learn, Understand, Succeed Together

Within just a few days, the machine was ready for its first training session. Wyatt guided the team through the software, operations, and material settings. "You quickly notice how dedicated the people here are," he recalls. "They want to understand how the technology works—and they want to excel at it." When the initial tests began and were immediately successful, the excitement was palpable. For the client. For the team. For Wyatt. A moment that proves: Technology is only as good as the people who operate it—and the collaboration behind it.

The Magic of Small Moments

Despite the busy days, there were moments Wyatt will never forget: laughing with colleagues on-site. The warm welcome received. The satisfaction of stepping onto the beach after a hard day's work. The waves, the sky, the sound of the sea – a moment to breathe.
