About Plastiques ZD
Founded in 1989, Plastiques ZD is located in the heart of the Plastics Valley in Saint-Martin-du-Frêne and specializes in the processing of plastics using the injection molding process. With 35 years of experience, Plastiques ZD draws its strength from the know-how acquired over the years and the use of the latest technologies to meet the specific requirements of its customers. Today, the company has a machine park with 18 presses ranging from 100 to 2500 tons, with which it manufactures plastic parts.
MAT - A Reliable Partner of Sesotec
MAT Technologic, a partner of Sesotec, based in Nantua in the Ain department, has been distributing equipment for the plastics industry and the recycling sector since 1992. The activities of MAT Technologic are not limited to offering industrial equipment but range from consulting by qualified experts to the complete examination of the final product to ensure a turnkey installation of the complete systems. The components are modified and adapted to be integrated into existing systems or machines if necessary. The services also include assembly and parameterization. The training of the personnel is carried out by a technical team.
The problem: Inefficient recycling of scrap parts and production waste.
With the growth of Plastiques ZD, it became necessary to find an environmentally friendly and economical solution for the recycling of scrap parts and production waste. The company was looking for a solution and turned to its long-standing partner MAT Technologic. The team at MAT Technologic analyzed the problem in detail to propose the most suitable recycling plant for the production line. Several challenges had to be overcome:
- The available space: A room was already designated.
- The wide range of parts to be processed: First shredding, then reducing to the desired final size (two separate steps).
- Packing the final material in big bags
The solution: Utilization of plastic waste with a customized plastic recycling plant.
MAT Technologic has a department for plastic recycling that helps industrial companies improve their waste management. A team of specialists advises, sells, customizes, and installs individual components or complete systems for plastic recycling: sorting, shredding, storage, etc.
The experts at MAT, in close collaboration with the teams from Plastiques ZD, took the time to understand the needs, challenges, and specifics of this project. The goal was to offer an individual and customized solution that precisely meets the customer's specifications. Several of the aforementioned constraints or challenges had to be considered in this project.
After careful examination of the project, the choice fell on a recycling plant where shredders and plastic granulators are combined in a single machine. This complete solution has a small footprint while ensuring the desired volume reduction.
To complement the selected system, several peripheral devices were necessary, including metal detectors and metal separators from Sesotec. The recycling plant includes a conveyor belt equipped with an ELS flat metal detector, which is mounted under the conveyor belt to warn of ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants. The ELS flat metal detector is suitable for installation in conveyor belts and material chutes. The single-layer flat detector is used to inspect piece and bulk goods on a conveyor belt or material chute, preferably at low material height.
It detects all magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminants (steel, stainless steel, aluminum…) – even if they are enclosed in the product. If metal is detected, a signaling device or a separating system can be activated, or a signal is sent to the process control.
After the exhaust fan, a Sesotec metal separator of type GF was installed in the pipeline to separate even the smallest metal particles before the material is filled into BigBags.
The metal separator GF is used in suction or pressure conveying lines to protect injection molds and processing machines. It detects all magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminants (steel, stainless steel, aluminum,…) – even if they are enclosed in the product. Metal contaminants are ejected via the separating unit (“Quick-Flap”) without interrupting the material flow and with minimal material loss.
All components are pre-assembled, the mounting frame and quick connectors ensure quick and easy assembly and integration. The compact device design ensures low space consumption. As experts, the MAT team knows the capabilities of the Sesotec devices, their reliability, and precision. This allows them to certify to customers that the machines meet the specifications and fulfill the requirements.
