The Sesotec X-ray scanners for upright products are especially suitable for tall and slim forms of packaging (e.g. Tetra Pak) and facilitate high-speed inspection. They detect a variety of contaminants, such as metals, glass, ceramic, stones and PVC, not to mention various product defects. They are extremely user-friendly and automatically adjust to different product heights when products are switched, thereby preventing customer complaints and recalls from the outset.
X-rays screen the upright products transported on a conveyor belt. From the signals, our special analysis software creates a digital X-ray image, which it examines for contaminants, fill level, trapped air and other defects. A PE link belt moves the product being inspected evenly through the X-ray beam, which means it is possible to scan the product in rows.
The X-rays are electrically generated in the X-ray tube. They leave the tube through a narrow slit and penetrate the product being inspected as a fan-shaped beam. Depending on the product’s height and density, some of the X-rays are absorbed by the product.
The linear detector line installed next to the conveyor belt converts the radiation that reaches it into an electrical signal from which a digital image is created.
This is where the X-ray image is analysed and the reject systems are precisely controlled.
A pusher moves contaminated products onto a reject table, from where they can be removed manually. We offer systems in different versions.
